Description
The project involves a preliminary study for process innovation aimed at creating 3D virtual environments directly projected in real-time on LED screens during sets and productions, thus forming the backdrop for capturing a real subject immersed in the virtual environment. The resulting outcome would allow for interactions between the subject and the environment, creating a deep sense of realism in the video footage while shooting inside a studio setting.
Objectives
Quasar Productions will focus on the technology that enables communication between the camera and the rendered content present on the LED wall (or other projection system). The goal is to understand the design limitations of both the 3D content and camera movements.
Ikon will be responsible for the scenographic design, encompassing not only the LED wall and its impact on ambient lighting but also the management of the shooting space, specifically the distance between the subject of the shot and the LED wall backdrop.
Results
The LED wall project will allow us to carry out shots in our studios that previously could only have been achieved by traveling to distant cities or even remote locations such as deserts or canyons.
